THROUGH THE MOUNTAIN

There’s something about driving a 31-foot motorhome toward the side of a mountain and realizing the road doesn’t go around it. It goes straight through it. On our journey across Nevada, towing the Jeep behind us, the highway led us through two mountain tunnels carved into some of the most rugged country we had seen on the trip. From behind that big RV windshield, those tunnel openings kept getting larger until there was nowhere left to go but in. That’s one of the things we love most about traveling this country by road. The destination is only part of the adventure. Sometimes it’s an old town, sometimes it’s a piece of history, and sometimes it’s simply wondering what in the heck is waiting for you on the other side of a mountain. Come ride along with us.
